The session was red-flagged with just a minute or so left when Pol Espargaro suffered a suspected engine failure as he entered turn one. Espargaro looked to possibly have fluid leaking from his bike on the previous lap and was snapped into the air when he entered turn one. Espargaro was sent tumbling, and slammed onto the track with terrific force. He did not get up after the crash, although he looked to be moving his upper extremities.
Tech 3 is reporting that Pol broke his left foot in the crash.
