Robbery Victims Shooting Attackers Called ‘Alarming Trend’
There’s an alarming trend in Detroit that have some people worried. In the span of a week, two separate robberies were thwarted when the victims, who both had conceal carry permits and a gun, managed to defend themselves by shooting their attackers.
In the first incidence, two teenagers thought it would be a good idea to rob the 70 year old coach of a girl’s high school basketball team at Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School. The coach was escorting two of the girls to their cars in the school parking lot when the teens, 15 and 16 years of age, confronted the coach, grabbing him by a chain necklace he wore and sticking something in his chest that he assumed was a gun. The girls ran away as the coach was being attacked.
The boys failed to realize that the coach is a reserve police officer who was armed at the time. He managed to get his gun and shoot both teens. The 16 year old died from his wounds and the 15 year old was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The police are still reviewing the shootings, but all indications say that it was a clear case of self-defense.
In the second incidence, two teenagers targeted a pair of utility workers in Detroit. One of the workers also had a conceal carry permit and was legally armed. Like the coach, he was able to pull out his handgun and shoot the two would-be robbers. One was listed in serious condition and the second was reported to be in critical condition.
Some people in Detroit, including the one news person, are referring to the two incidences of self-defense as an alarming trend. Alarming for who?
If anything it should be alarming for others contemplating robbing someone else in Detroit. It’s also alarming for the Obama administration along with the rest of the anti-gun lobby as they can’t let the public think that there really is a good justification for people being armed and protecting themselves. After all, what would that do their argument that everyone should be disarmed?
Personally, I think it’s great and would like to see more American’s defending themselves from robbers, rapists and other attackers. In too many cases, the victims of these crimes are senselessly shot down so they can’t identify their attacker. I would much rather be in a position to defend myself than to be the victim of a crime that could have been prevented. Which would you rather be – victim or alive?

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The ex-cop accused of three revenge killings left behind a long manifesto outlining all of his grievances and observations.
That manifesto has given investigators some clues, but they still don’t know where is Christopher Dorner.
Law enforcement spent four hours searching his mom’s Orange County home. They took out 10 grocery bags filled with evidence.
Dorner lost his job with the Los Angeles Police Department in 2008. His manifesto vows revenge for that; and, surprisingly, thousands of people actually support him.
It’s hard to believe but there are those out there who sympathize with the man targeting police officers.
One Facebook page is proclaiming Dorner for president. “We propose electing a man who could no longer sit idly by and watch as malicious tyrants abuse the innocent.”
The description on “We Are All Chris Dorner” chillingly says, “Yes, this is war.”

JUSTICE FOR THE WORKING GUY
Paul Guaschino was driving Friday when a fellow motorist spotted an “Impeach Obama” bumper sticker on the 62-year-old Connecticut resident’s vehicle.
According to cops, the other driver apparently did not appreciate the bumper sticker and “displayed his dislike by showing his middle finger.”
In response, Guaschino allegedly followed the other driver to a traffic light, where he exited his car--baseball bat in hand--and struck the trunk of the middle finger-waving driver. The second motorist “fled in fear of his safety,” police reported.
The road rage incident resulted in three criminal charges being filed against Guaschino (threatening, criminal mischief, and breach of peace).
Guaschino, who did not return a message left at his Manchester home, is scheduled for a February 20 Superior Court appearance. While state records show that Guaschino is registered to vote, he has not declared a party affiliation.
JUSTICE FOR THE JUDGE
A woman facing a drug possession charge got a harsh lesson in justice after a Miami-Dade judge sentenced her to 30 days in jail for flipping him the bird at a hearing Monday.
Penelope Soto, 18, was arrested for possession of Xanax and was brought before Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat Monday, where she was asked about her assets.
Soto, who was sporting orange jail clothes and smiled and stroked her hair through the proceeding, laughed when she was asked how much her jewelry was worth.

CHRIS KYLE DID NOT DESERVE THIS.
A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting at a Texas gun range that killed former Navy Seal sniper Chris Kyle and his friend.
Sergeant Lonny Haschel, of the Texas Department of Public Safety, said in a news release that Eddie Ray Routh of Lancaster, Texas, was arraigned on two counts of capital murder.
Sgt Haschel said Erath County Sheriff's deputies found the bodies of Mr Kyle, 38, and Chad Littlefield, 35, on Saturday at the Rough Creek Lodge shooting range, about 50 miles (80 km) southwest of Fort Worth.
Police said Routh opened fire on Mr Kyle and Mr Littlefield, and then fled in a pickup truck. He was later arrested near his home in Lancaster after a brief pursuit.
Officer Kyle Roberts at the Erath County Jail said Routh is being held on a combined $3m bond.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
Mr Kyle, a decorated soldier, wrote the best-selling book, American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in US Military History, detailing his 150-plus kills of insurgents from 1999 to 2009.

(WXYZ) – Police sources tell 7 Action News that a women’s basketball coach from Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School shot two men who attacked him as he was walking two basketball players to their cars in the school parking lot.
Police sources say the coach was walking the two girls to their cars when two men allegedly approached and one pulled out a gun and grabbed him by his chain necklace.
The coach then pulled out his gun and shot both of them, according to sources.
The man who shot the attackers was 70 years old, according to police.
One of the attackers was found dead in the median on Lafayette Boulevard, and the other was taken to a local hospital, according to police sources.
We’ve learned that both of the men had attended the high school, and one had been recently expelled.
Police sources say the coach has a Concealed Pistol License and is reportedly a reserve police officer. They say he is fully cooperating with authorities.

When news broke that a 14-year old student had been shot at an Atlanta middle school on the morning of Jan. 31, reports did not mention that the shooter had been disarmed by an armed guard at the school. But Atlanta Police Chief George Turner is now saying the shooter was in fact disarmed by an armed guard working at the school.
In other words, today’s shooting proves the point the NRA has been emphasizing since Sandy Hook Elementary–”The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”
What is now known is that the shooter was another student, who is in custody, and the victim was a male student who was shot in the neck. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, and the victim was alert and conscious when medical personnel arrived on the scene.

Vice President Joe Biden was perhaps a little too candid on the subject of new gun control laws when talking to reporters Thursday after a meeting with Senate Democrats in the Capitol.
“Nothing we’re going to do is going to fundamentally alter or eliminate the possibility of another mass shooting or guarantee that we will bring gun deaths down to a thousand a year from what we’re at now,” Biden said, according to a Politico report.
