Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman threatened Monday afternoon that he would file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he institutes gun control measures with an executive order.

ANOTHER BLUE DRESS LIE...

President Clinton signed the assault weapons ban into law in 1994, but it expired after 10 years and was not renewed. Even supporters have said it was riddled with loopholes, limiting its effectiveness. But the rash of mass shootings in recent years, including the Newtown tragedy, have provided new impetus for a renewed ban.
So let’s dig into the data and see what we find.
The Pinocchio Test
In the highly charged debate over guns, it is important for politicians on both sides to get their facts straight. In this case, the available data show that Clinton was way off base in his assertion, making an exaggerated claim — which his office would not even defend.
Ordinarily, this might have been a Four Pinocchio claim. Given the fuzziness of the data and questions about definitions, we are going to cut Clinton a bit of slack in the final ruling.
But such uncertainty in the data means politicians need to be very careful in making claims about gun violence.

THE PEOPLE'S SHERIFF
Dana Safety Supply, a major distributor of weapons and accessories to police departments and civilians across the United States, has declared that they will no longer sell semi-automatic rifles to civilians. Instead, they will only sell to law enforcement. This prompted Oconee County, Georgia Sheriff Scott Barry to write them an email in which he told them he would no longer be seeking them out to purchase products for his department based on their decision.
In the interview, when asked why he would not longer be purchasing from DSS, Sheriff Barry said that since law abiding citizens couldn’t purchase a legal weapon there with money they have, then he wasn’t going to “spend their tax money” at such a business and he wasn’t going to “spend his personal money there” either. Come on! This guy is my kind of Sheriff!

FALSE HOPE
President Obama wrapped her in a well-publicized embrace, Donna Vanzant became the face of a promise of “immediate” assistance from the federal government in the days after superstorm Sandy devastated the East Coast.
But as Vanzant battled with her insurance company for the funds to rebuild her Jersey Shore marina, she had another brush with the commander-in-chief that left her feeling less confident in Washington’s efforts. After sending an email to the White House asking for the federal government to make good on its promise to help, Vanzant received a form letter that never answered her questions.
“It had nothing to do with what I was asking him. It was a form letter. It thanked me for supporting the troops,” Vanzant said in an interview The Philly Post blog on Friday. “He made a promise to rebuild on national television, and I can’t even get this money. It’s heartbreaking, really.”

Delhi Gang Rape: Youngest Attacker 'Ripped out Victim's Intestines with Bare Hands'
The youngest of the attackers was the most violent of all.
A juvenile who is one of six suspects accused of gang raping and murdering a 23-year-old medical student in Delhi was the most violent of all the attackers, police say.
A police spokesman said that the juvenile sexually abused his victim twice and ripped out her intestines with his bare hands.
Because of his age, he is the only one of the six who cannot be sentenced to death if found guilty. He will be tried in a juvenile court.
Five adults have been charged with rape and murder and police say they plan to push for the death penalty.
However, the maximum sentence the juvenile can receive under existing law is three years.
According to the Hindustan Times, the charges against the juvenile show he also suggested throwing her from the moving bus naked.

IRANIAN NUCLEAR ZOMBIES
Iranian officials have instructed residents of Isfahan to leave the city, renewing concerns that a nearby nuclear site could be leaking radioactive material.
An edict issued Wednesday by Iranian authorities orders Isfahan’s one-and-a-half million people to leave the city “because pollution has now reached emergency levels,” the BBC reported.
However, outside observers suspect that the evacuation order may corroborate previous reports indicating that a uranium enrichment facility near Isfahan had been leaking radioactive material.
Tehran went to great lengths in December to deny these reports, tellingstate-run media outlets that “the rumors about leaking and contamination at Isfahan’s [Uranium Conversion Facility] are not true at all.”
November reports indicated that a radioactive leak might have poisoned several workers at the nuclear plant, which converts highly toxic yellowcake uranium into material that could be used in the core of a nuclear weapon.
The head of Iran’s emergency services agency said at the time that residents have no reason to worry about possible contamination resulting from a possible leak.
