Shintaro Katsu was one of Japan's finest actors. He was famous for Zatoichi, The Blind Swordsman. Zatoichi was a blind masseur who walked the roads and trails of Japan. He was Yakuza, a gambler who detested Samurai and other Yakuza who did not live by their code. He dispensed justice by leaving dead bodies piled up in mounds! The women loved Zatoichi, he always left them standing, Ichi only had one true love.
Shintaro Katsu was Zatoichi. No American actor has ever reached the level of humor, sadness, compassion or anger, as he brought Zatoichi to life.
